Is it possible to install BESclient on /var/opt/BESclient partition/filesystem if we create one for Linux servers?
The BESClient installer for Linux lays out files in the following manner by default.
- Application binaries >> /opt/BESClient
- Masthead (manual process) >> /etc/opt/BESClient
- Storage of config and other files >> /var/opt/BESClient
I don’t think you’d want to install the application binaries into the same path as the run-time files/storage. However, you could symlink /opt/BESClient/bin to /var/opt/BESClient/bin if you really wanted to.
