BES Propagation Error

(imported topic written by Yankee195091)

A customer has BES Console 7.2.4.60 installed on their BigFix server with approximately 1458 clients reporting back to the server (used as a relay). By the time that I got involved most of their clients had stopped communicating back to the server. I want to setup some remote “relays” for this customer at some of their larger sites. However whenever I go to run any task etc. I get the following message:

Propagation Error - unable to contact BES root server to update current time.

I KNOW this is probably due to the customer having too many clients reporting back to the one server. However how can I solve this issue - so that I CAN setup the appropriate remote relays. I GET THIS MESSAGE ON VIRTUALLY ANY

ACTION THAT I TAKE.

PS - I have already checked the regular causes for this error (same port being used for both BES and webreports etc.). I have also stopped and restarted the BES Root Service.

Can someone please advise.

Thanks

Sounds like your rootserver is effectively down… I would guess that this is not a problem caused by too many agents reporting to the server… It sounds instead that the rootserver is misconfigured or broken in some form…

You should contact support for assistance because someone needs to look at it in more detail and diagnose the problem…
