BES Admin - Advanced Options

(imported topic written by SystemAdmin)

Hello,

Trying to figure out what a few Advanced Options actually do. Under the Advanced Options tab in the BES Admin tool I have two additional options and I’m not sure what they do.

Can anybody tell me what “use701ActionSiteFileNames” and “usePre70ClientCompatibleMIME” are for?

thanks much,

Hi pschoef1,

Those settings will exist if you upgraded from 6.0 to 7.0.1 and then from 7.0.1 to any higher version. The “use701ActionSiteFileNames” option has to do with how site files are named, and prevents your clients from all sending up full reports when you upgrade. The “usePre70ClientCompatibleMIME” option controls use of efficient MIME inside of newly deployed fixlets and actions, and ensures that any clients still at 6.0 will function. If all of your clients are at 7.0 or higher, you can set it to “false”

Regards,

Steve
