Does anyone have recommendations on dealing with Baselines and pre-fetching content?
For example, I have separate tasks that uninstall older or competitive versions of Anti-Virus, and I would like the then deploy our supported corporate A/V. Given that the deployment is a 30M download, I would like to be sure that clients have it “locally” so they can complete both tasks within a reasonable time frame to minimize exposure, etc.
Is there a recommended approach to this? Putting prefetch rules in the second task won’t do me any good, correct?
Should I create dummy “lead-in” tasks that simply do prefetch? Then later when the normal download actions appear in the second (3rd) task it should recognize that it already has it? I just fear that in general this may not be reliable because the __Download folder could be cleaned in between, if for example this was a much larger baseline.
Thanks.
