Automatic group definition upgrade issue 7.0?

(imported topic written by MartinZ91)

Hi everyone

We generated several automatic groups (in 6.x) i.e. by selecting “OS contains AIX” for a group named “All IBM AIX”. We did not put in “Relevance Expression” but simply selected “OS” from the drop down boxes.

After upgrade to 7.0.9 we find, that those groups still work correctly (the AIX still are relevant) BUT in “Edit group properties” the wrong drop down box is given, the group definition now reads “Computer Name contains AIX” which of course is not correct. I did a “create custom copy” with one of this groups and not surprisingly none of our computers got relevant.

I exported one of the original group definitions and looked into the XML syntax (the relevance there was obviously generated automatically in 6.x)

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> All IBM AIX

false

AIX

exists (operating system) whose (it as string as lowercase contains “AIX” as lowercase)

I imported this definition without modification besides the name to avoid duplicates and alle the IBM AIX got relevant.

Did anyone observe the same behaviour? Our is it something weird with our deployment? I did look in the other group definitions and did not find any other problem there up to now.

Regards, Martin

Thanks Martin… We will check it out… I am not sure if this issue is specific to you or to others, but it looks like you found an effective workaround…
