Automate patching sequentially

(imported topic written by SystemAdmin)

Hi all,

I am new to TEM and need to find a way to automate windows patching between multiple servers. I have a couple of web servers that I need to automate patching. I want to patch one server, restart and then if successful, patch the other server once server 1 is up and available.

What would be the best way of doing this?

Thanks,

Mike

that would be IEMfSA (TEM Server Automation).

Hi Mike

This is exactly the scenario that the Server Automation applications Automation Plans are for.

You define the fixlets you want to run as a series of steps and then you target these to your computers.

When the Automation Plan runs it starts the steps in sequence based on a successful completion of the previous step.
