Are there fixlets for Shockwave?

(imported topic written by ktm_200091)

I’m looking to address: http://secunia.com/advisories/35544/2/

http://www.adobe.com/support/security/bulletins/apsb09-08.html

They want everyone to goto version 11.5.0.600

Hey ktm,

We don’t have current Shockwave Fixlet content so you will need to write a custom Fixlet for this… Although note that we are considering supporting even more Adobe applications (in addition to Acrobat, Reader, Flash Player) now that Adobe revised its patching processes so stay tuned for more info…

If you would like our Professional Services team to write this Fixlet (and any others that you might want), consider purchasing a Fixlet 5-pack:

Ben,

I can put this together… just wanted to see if Big Fix covered it.

Hi Folks,

Here’s an Uninstaller for you:

http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/get/shockwave/uninstall/win/sw_uninstaller.exe

Run it with a /S to go silent

I’m using ZEN to deploy so sorry no fixlet info.

Looks like the action will be:

prefetch sw_uninstaller.exe sha1:0f4fe03fe057701e61f17190c37dea35c2b7f6e0 size:195350 http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/get/shockwave/uninstall/win/sw_uninstaller.exe

waithidden __Download\sw_uninstaller.exe /S

Note that you can make this same Fixlet in your Software Distribution Wizard.

Great news!

Any chance there will be a fixlet to turn off the auto-update feature? (http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/productinfo/privacy/contents.html) (http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/166/tn_16683.html)

I’d like to request that this be a core fixlet included with any vendor / fixlet content when said application includes an auto update feature.

One other question, will the Adobe Product Detection Analysis be updated to include Shockwave?

BigFix still not releasing the fixlets for Shockwave player?
Latest version of player released in April.

https://helpx.adobe.com/bg/security/products/shockwave/apsb19-20.html

BigFix does have content for Shockwave player updates.
It is in the Updates for Windows Applications site.

Do note that Shockwave player has reached end of life.
The link to version “12.3.5.205” in your link simply takes you to the end of life page.

Excerpt from that page:

When will the End of Life take effect?

Starting on April 9, 2019, Shockwave player for Windows will no longer be available for download. Adobe will no longer accept ETLA and EULA agreements for Shockwave effective on April 9, 2019.

So it looks like Adobe pulled Shockwave from their website the same day that they released APSB19-20.

However, the usual Adobe Shockwave link that points to the latest version is able to grab version “12.3.5.205” and fixlets have been released for this in Updates for Windows Applications version 1256.
