Got info forwarded to me over the weekend about Apple releasing a bad security update on Feb 28 that will block the ethernet driver on El Capitan. Apple has since released a new update to fix this issue. This is a really good article with the full details:

You may be thinking how can we fix the Mac with bigfix if the ethernet adapter is blocked. The Mac needs to restart in order for the block to happen after the update has been installed. So you can still force the new update from Apple to repair the blocked driver if it is found and the Mac is reporting into BigFix.
