So not related to the ESU site, just in general even during a manual installation of the Nov CU KB5068781 msu file. This is obviously for Win10 22h2 Enterprise 10.0.19045.6456 with ESU installed license. The KB process completes asking to reboot just to have it roll back when it reaches 94%.
I have an MS ticket open and waiting on update but I wonder if anyone is having this issue?
Looks like MS has released a targeted preparation update: KB5072653 ESU Licensing Prep for Windows 10 Enterprise. I wonder if this will resolve the issue reported here. I don't see it in the Patches for Windows site yet.
Had to open a ticket last friday and per MS support there is a known issue with the the CU for enterprise environments. The CU is trying to āphone homeā to validate when it shouldnāt do that on on-prem, physical domain joined machines.
I just tried that kb you posted, rebooted and tried the Nov CU again but same outcome, rollsback after failing to phone home.
This shows up on the CBS.log file after it boots up trying to finish up, gets stuck at 94% and then rollsback
Hi ceeze, Iām curious if you ever found a solution to this particular issue in your screenshot? Iāve been having this exact same issue for weeks now and havenāt been able to resolve it. Iāve tried soooo many fixes, and itās the same exact error and message your showing.
Like you, my license is showing activated, all the perquisites are installed (including KB5072653), and no matter what I do it gets to 94% and rolls back.
After licensing the machine with the ESU you have to install the preparation package (KB5072653). This applies only to corporate PCās. After that is installed you will install the ESU Win10 CUās without issues.
