Any reason to avoid using the master site?

(imported topic written by SY57_Jim_Montgomery)

I have an infrastructure with many custom sites and automatic groups to help split up administration. I want to have a central site that all computers subscribe to for the purposes of handling zero-day exploit, ohno! deployments, and anything else we might want to do centrally.

Is there any advantage to setting up a new custom site that all clients subscribe to, as opposed to using the master site?

Thanks,

Jim

You can control the permissions on the custom site and grant other people to create/read Fixlets from that site… But only master operators can create Fixlets in the master operator site…

Oh yeah! I was overlooking permissions. We definitely want to limit the number of master operators.

Thanks, we’ll be creating a separate site for global actions/fixlets.
