Analysis Version Mismatch

I have setup analyses for some applications we have in use in our environment to get basic stuff like version info. Said information is nice to have so I can make an Application Dashboard on BFX Web Reports that I can quickly look at to see if any clients are missing important updates.

Anyways, I’ve noticed that on the Web Report, there are some applications which report as having very old version of some software. Below is an example of what I see in the web area for Kofax Power PDF which is an application I have an analysis setup for.

3.10.6677 is an old version that shouldn’t still be deployed, however when I went into the BFX Console to view the analysis there, there are no clients listed as being on that version. The lowest I can see is 5.00.

Any advice? I use the same analysis code to pull the version info from each software I have this setup for, however I’ve only noticed this issue on a couple of them. If it has to do with the way these applications are setup in the registry, I’d think it would cause issues both in the BFX Console and the Web Reports area but it seems to only be showing weird info on the Web side.

Is it possible you have different permissions in the Console vs. in Web Reports? Looking at version 5.00.22223.0100 for instance, I see 8 of them in your Console screenshot, and 9 are showing in Web Reports (so, this isn’t limited to just 3.10.6677). It seems like you have broader visibility in Web Reports than in the Console (or perhaps there are multiple analyses properties for this software?).

Interesting theory, I can check if there’s a permission difference but I don’t believe there to be.

I thought the way the two systems interact is that the Console Analyses you have setup gather the data, and that data is then fed to Web Reports to summarize and turn into regular reports. If that’s how the system works, wouldn’t the broader visibility be on the console side, not Web Reports?
