Adobe Reader 11.0.07 Failing

written by sdemonte)

We are having issues with the Adobe Reader fixlet and I believe its probably an Adobe issue and not a fixlet issue.

The file says its cached:

AdbeRdrUpd11007.msp

Complete

Cached on Server

However, all machines that run the fixlet get the following error:

Command succeeded (Exit Code=1636) waithidden msiexec.exe /p “__Download\AdbeRdrUpd11007.msp” REINSTALL=ALL REINSTALLMODE=omu /qn (fixlet 222434)

Error 1636:

ERROR_PATCH_PACKAGE_INVALID

1636

This patch package could not be opened. Contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid Windows Installer patch package.

I have tried to download the file manually but it gets to 36MB of 41.9MB and then it stops, eventually I get a failed network error on download.

Just posting to see if others are having the same issue.

Thanks,

Scott

I was able to download it directly from:
http://ardownload.adobe.com/pub/adobe/reader/win/11.x/11.0.07/misc/AdbeRdrUpd11007.msp
in my browser without getting an error. I was also able to verify the SHA1 and size match what is found in the task.

Are you using a Proxy? You might have an incomplete file in your cache. You could also have an issue with the file cache on adobe’s side closest to you with their CDN… less likely but I believe has happened before.

Hi Scott,

It was most probably caused by a problem in the action script. Please gather the latest site: Updates for Windows Applications, version 663, and try again. Thank you!

Thanks James for providing help here!
