7.2.5.22 Update

(imported topic written by StacyLee)

I had a question on this issue that was resolved.

BES Console

  • Actions taken from a BES Support Fixlet or Task with a custom action script will no longer run on locked computers. (Issue #27168)

Does this mean any action pushed fromthe support site will not be pushed to locked machines?

My main concern is when i perform site upgrades i can push them all out at once. Regardless of lock status, we

many

machines that BigFix is installed on them and locked indefinately. Those machines are patched and updated through other means but BigFix is used to monitor their status.

Hey Stacy,

Nope… The behavior where Fixlets/Tasks from BES Support will run on locked computers is still there (by-design). The difference is that if you modify the Fixlet/Task action when you send it out, then it will obey the locked setting.

This change was put in due to concerns that it was a simple yet unauthorized way to get around the “locked” status.

I updated the description a bit to try to make it less confusing… Thanks for the note…
