Hi,
I would like to seek some help from the BigFix community.
Had anyone ever attempt using WSUS download cab files as a form of source and convert or link it into BigFix as a sha source for patch management?

I’m not sure I understand the use-case? What benefit do you see?
Hi JasonWalker,
actually, my boss is looking at fetching the patching source from our existing WSUS then somehow we will drop it into bigfix server.
we understand that Bigfix is unable to take in CAB files, we are looking methods on how to integrate them together, if we are able to do that, our end will automate the process from downloading patches in WSUS then file transfer over to bigfix.
A couple of years ago we looked at doing that. What we found is the sha1/sha256 download values did not match up so we abandoned the idea. The download BigFix is using typicall come from the Microsoft Update Catalog.
What problem are you trying to solve, though?
Using the CAB files instead of the MSU packages means different download files, means generating different Fixlets, means reproducing all the relevance detection logic…
If this is just because you have a root server that cannot download from the Internet, perhaps you could check into the BESDownloadCacher tool instead?
