WOL for Macs?

On BigFix I am able to use WOL on all of my Windows boxes with no problem. However, my Macs are a different story. The Macs are configured for WOL but I am unable to power them on via BigFix. Is the Power Management site no compatible with Macs? I’ve searched all over the BigFix forums and found several WOL topics but none of them addressed WOL on Macs. Any help would be great appreciated! Thanks!

It is supposed to work… we test WoL with Macs, I believe…

Which form of WoL are you using?

  • Scheduled wake-on-lan wizard?
  • Custom right-click (old right-click style that required reg import)
  • Integrated right-click (new 7.1+ style)

Right-click.

I tried right-clicking on the computer and from the contextual menu I tried both “Send Wake on Lan Request” and “Wake On Lan” but both methods failed.

I am currently running 7.2 on the console and client.

Can you confirm the Mac computer is capable of waking up from WoL (maybe grab a simple .exe online?)

Most Macs will only do Wake from standby and not wake from poweroff.
