I thought that a recent release of BFI included Windows SQL Server inventory information. Now I am looking in 10.0.0 and not finding anything special regarding Windows SQL Server.

As far as I can see, BFI reports on SQL Server using one of two license metrics:

  • Microsoft Physical Core with SA
  • Microsoft Virtual Core with SA

Of course, this is dependent on the discovered component being correctly assigned to the proper product and metric.

What special treatment for SQL Server were you expecting from BFI v10.0.0?
