Since Greg got his wish for Win 7 added to the deployment Wizard I figured I would ask for having Windows 7 supported added to the power profile wizard.

In my testing I pulled out the Vista action section and applied it to a Win 7 machine and it worked perfectly. Incorporating Win 7 in the relevance auto created was a bit tricky so I ended up simplying it.

Any update on this? It would be nice if this wizard worked with Windows 7. Believe it or not, we already have more Win7 clients than WinVista…

I believe we have already implemented this in our next release of Power Management, but we don’t have it released yet… I will check on the date we intend to release it, but it will probably be a few months…

Any update on when this will be released? We’re getting a lot of questions about it.

Since power management is a big part of why we use BigFix, this is really important to us.

Hey guys,

Windows 7 support will be released by the end of March.

Customers will be able to:

  • View and set power policies via the Power Profile Wizard
  • Track power consumption

Also, a big update to the Power Management product is currently in development. It’s scheduled to be released in the Q3 time frame (July - September). More details to come.
