What does Server error: "HttpRestartableBadContent" mean?

(imported topic written by kespoor91)

I have a user who is trying to deploy fixlet: Sym07-019: Symantec AntiVirus Malformed RAR and CAB Compression Type Bypass - Symantec AntiVirus Corporate Edition < 10.1 MR5 MP1

As the fixlet instructs, he’s manually downloaded the file, renamed it to the sha value and placed it in the cache of the relay the test machine is using (at C:\Program Files\BigFix Enterprise\BES Relay\wwwroot\bfmirror\downloads\sha1)

I’ve verified the sha1 value and the size of his download match what’s expected.

I’m not finding any reference to the error that it’s showing: Server error: “HttpRestartableBadContent”

Any assistance would be appreciated. Thanks!

I’ve tested this on our system, and it works fine… You may want to double check the location where you placed this file, and ensure that there is no extension on the file… i.e… "3d2f4dca028af1c280493a769b1e514a7277e15d.EXE†NOTE: the “.exe” Sometimes if you have the extensions of known files hidden, and you rename the file it keeps the extension.

And if that is not it… double check the file location.

In our case we have the BES Server on the “E” drive… i.e. “E:\Program Files (x86)\BigFix Enterprise\BES Server\wwwrootbes\bfmirror\downloads\sha1”
