What does everyone think of weekly webinars on specific BigFix topics?

(imported topic written by BenKus)

Hi everybody,

We had an idea for this new year:

Would it be useful if BigFix were to host a weekly or bi-weekly webinar specifically oriented towards BES Administrators on a specific BigFix topic?

The idea would be that we would give a presentation for something like 30-60 minutes on a topic and we would then open up for questions for anyone on the webinar. I think we could probably record these as well and make them available for distribution.

Here are some topics we thought might be useful:

  • Crash course in agent relevance for Fixlets, properties, etc.
  • Crash course in session relevance for custom reports and other queries.
  • How to use the new BigFix Client UI in BigFix 7.0.
  • Tips for setting up your BigFix relays efficiently (relay placement, autoselection, relay affiliation, etc.)
  • How to maximize BigFix performance.
  • Tips for bandwidth throttling.
  • Crash course in troubleshooting BigFix issues.
  • More ideas?

If you guys think this is a good idea, please let us know and we can start to schedule these… also if you have more topics you would be interested, let us know…

The final question would be the best time to hold these webinars. We have a global audience so we can’t please everyone, but how would something like 9am Pacific time work for everyone?

I’d be interested. I’m sure others at my company would, too.

I would be interested in MSSP related topics such as:

  • sharing a server/infrastructure among customers, segregating operators, self subscription to sites, billing, etc
  • access to the console via Citrix, security, logon scripts, client drive/printers access
  • customizing/branding console/web reports, custom wizards, etc.
  • client compliance (ARC - Assess, Remediate, Connect) based on BigFix FW/AV/AS/PM

Recorded sessions is a great idea.

Yes please and thank you.

  • YOU COULD post the previous webcasts in an archive too ****

Ok… Looks like everyone likes the idea…

Unless anyone has a objection, let’s try for next Thursday (1/31/2008) at 9am Pacific Time as our first session. We will likely start with “Practical Guide to Relevance”… Topic and time will be confirmed shortly.

Hi Ben,

Did this webinar took place? How can I get access to the recorded session? When is the next one?

Thanks.

Any chance of this being reinstated?

(imported comment written by BenKus)

Yep… it is just a matter of finding the time in all of our busy days…

What topics would people be most interested in?
