You can track the websites a user visits using our stand alone Web Protection Module or using the Web Reputation features which are part of the Core Protection Module. Check out our website or contact your sales rep for more info.

For the record, I hate proxies and think they are an outdated technology that no longer works to solve the problem for which they were originally designed. The prevalence of mobile computers outside the company network, combined with the false security of a global shared password make proxies seem like a waste of time, effort and money. As far as I’m concerned you don’t get accurate tracking and you just drive up help desk call volume. Anyway, that’s just a personal rant. I’m not representing any official BigFix sentiment.

jesswek, the better proxies can use NTLM authentication and don’t require a user to actually type a username and password (when using IE or Firefox, chrome and safari aren’t quite as enterprise ready). They can also be dployed using inline mode (yuck) or cisco wccp, both of which can be set up to not require authentication. Some have client agents that can be run off network that enfore the same rules.

eric.wagner9, I’d be happy to share my experiences and recent deployment of a proxy for just such reasons. PM me if you want.
