Web Reports Progress Report - Executive Summary with Drill Down

Is there any way to create a summary progress report for a single vulnerability that encompasses all the underlying fixlets. For instance, for the latest Microsoft Patch MS08-67 there are 10+ fixlets. We would like a report that shows a summary progress of all MS08-67 fixlets along with machines remediated / not remediated. Then you could drill down to break out the status per fixlet.

Is there any way to do anything like this or is anything like this on the drawing board?

You could try these options:

  1. “Fixlet History” and selecting all the 10 Fixlets. Group hourly for the most detail.

  2. The “Issue Assessment” will list the patches, but only one at a time.

  3. Maybe try this report and filter for only MS08-067: http://forum.bigfix.com/viewtopic.php?id=865, but it isn’t drill-downable.

  4. Put all the Fixlets in a baseline and report on the baseline.

#1 is probably the best.

We actually already used option 1. But the feedback we got was that the report looked messy and they wanted a single chart / graph with a global overview. So we will try 3 and 4 and see how they work.

Can we formally request some type of overview report capability? If so, how do we do it?

How does one go about reporting on a Baseline. I just went in to try and create one and wasn’t able to see any type of baseline report. I know I am missing it, so if you could just point me in the right direction. Thx!

Hi jspanitz,

Go to the “All Baselines” Report and click on the baseline you made. It will give the overall status and has links to individual components.

I will forward your comments to our web reports product manager and developers.

Hmm. That might be the issue. We do not have the “All Baselines” Report.

I’m opening a support call now. Is there any way to obtain a list of what all the built-in web reports are out of the box?
