Is there a way to have a scheduled email of a report sent as plaintext, not html?

I had a project to utilize the web report email system to create email alerts and send them to our ticketing system. The only options available are PDF, HTML, CSV. None of these fit what I had intended to do with alerting. I had brought in the BigFix development team in to attempt to do just this, but the amount of time for development was way beyond my allowed budget for type of request. I was told the only way to achieve plan text was to have BigFix create a “service” for me to periodically poll the database and create a plain text email separate of the web report system. I had to go a different direction apart from BigFix.
