I don’t see a great deal in the BigFix Console that couldn’t be replicated in a web interface, especially all AJAX-y and such. You could gain lots of speed in loading time, and remove Console installation maintenance. Is this a tree that has been barked up a great deal?
It is always a discussion point around here… The benefits of web-based solution are clear to us, but we definitely believe that the responsiveness, security, and usability (especially at high-scale) is better in a Windows application than it can be using web technologies… So we would rather have an application that works well rather than a web interface that works poorly…
But a lot is changing in the world of web technologies as you mention so we will continue to evaluate…
