The majority of my department is involved with BigFix deployment at my organization in one way or another. We have a few favorite lunch hangouts, and at one spot in particular they make a buffalo chicken sandwich that tastes just great, but it’s a little messy.
We started talking with each other about how to improve this sandwich, and after coming up with an idea, we talked with the owners who agreed to try it out the following week. There was one stipulation: we had to also come up with a name for it.
The search was all over the place, but we ended up calling it “The Fix”, which is a tip of the hat to BigFix. The new sandwich is also a “fix” to the previous messy one, and its also pretty cool to just order a fix from a cashier, like you are a junkie or something.
So what kind of sandwich is the fix? It’s pulled chicken, marinated in buffalo sauce, heated with gorgonzola cheese. Then you have a bread roll, and chop off the very end tip, and through that side remove a tunnel of soft bread inside. Then the chicken/sauce/cheese is pushed down into the “handwich” and closed up with the bread cap. You can get this friggan’ amazing lunch (at least this week) at Worth-It Cafe in RTP, NC.
