A colleague reported to me, that he a number of times has seen, that a client (Computer Name) changes BigFix ID, if it is moved to another hypervisor in the same VMware ESXi cluster.
I am not sure what causes this, as the VM UID and BIOS UID should be the same, even if moved to another hypervisor…
Has anyone else seen this issue ?

Try to use BigFix platform setting clientIdentityMatch, to avoid new IDs generation.

I am pretty sure that in your case when move happens one of following changes:
RegCount
ReportSequenceNumber
Which triggers new ID generation.
