v9 upgrade MSSQL sa account rejected

I attempted to upgrade my server from 8.2.1364.0 to v9 with the fixlet. Now when I try to auth through the BesAdmin tool it’s telling me that it can’t connect to the bfenterprise DB with the ‘sa’ account. I can hit the DB directly using ‘sa’ though.

I’ve even tried to run the manual installer and removing v8 but still get the SQL exceptions. I’ve had a Sev 1 open with IBM support for three plus hours with no communication back.

Anybody experience the same or have any ideas on how to fix this? FillDB is of course getting blasted with the following:
