Upgrading Relay to 9.1.117.0 Relevance substitution error

(imported topic written by sdemonte)

I have just finished upgrading my BES server from 8.1.617.0 to 9.1.117 and everything seems at this point to be working. I just ran the Update Windows relay action version 9.1.117 on one relay before applying it to all 100 of them and it failed with an error:

From log file on relay:

ActionLogMessage: (action 227648 ) Relevance substitution error.

From action status:

Invalid action content: the action script contains a syntax error.

This action has been applied 1 time and will not be applied again.

Status

Failed

Start Time

End Time

Exit Code

None

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Scott

I assumed the problem was because we were upgrading from 8.1.617 caused the problem, so I tried to upgrade my relays to 9.1.1082 first and that worked then I was able to upgrade again to 9.1.1117.

I am still having problems with performance. I have a monster server and never had any performance problems before upgrading to 9.1. I would never see any files in buffer dir because the would be processed so quickly. My fildb log would grow about 26kb per second as information was gobbled up.

Now it is so slow the file barely grows at all.

I don’t have any web reports at this time either.

I have a support case opened yesterday, but I haven’t heard anything yet from IBM.

I worked with my DBA and had all the indexes rebuilt, and all the statistics recalculated - no change in performance

I also, just for the heck of it doubled my heartbeat time from 20 to 40 minutes to see if it would make a difference. - Nope not any better.

Anyone having same kind of bufferdir issues?
