Updated BES Server recommendations

The BES Server recommendations document has been updated:

http://support.bigfix.com/bes/install/serverreq.html

Important changes:

  1. SQL 2008 is now a supported configuration! Make friends with your DBA and see about upgrading!

  2. We increased the recommended memory amounts for all deployment sizes. This change was done to allow increased SQL Server memory usage which has been shown to improve performance over the previously listed values. We don’t anticipate scalability problems with the previous memory recommendations so you do not need to upgrade hardware unless you feel inclined to do so. We decided it would be worth increasing our recommendations as memory prices have gone down significantly since we last updated the Server recommendations.

  3. SQL 2000 and Windows 2000 are no longer recommended configurations. They are still supported at this point and they are listed on our support policy page but we no longer recommend using them. If you are using either of these configurations, we strongly recommend upgrading and we are anticipating dropping support for them in the not too distance future.
