Unusual Client behavior after update

(imported topic written by twdavis41691)

Hi All,

I recently updated our TEM server to the most recent version (8.2.1093.0) and started seeing some unusual activity on out client workstations. It looks like the client is trying to use memory that is already in use by a number of other applications. The reason i know is that we also run Cisco’s CSA agent on our network and it’s logging messages similar to the one below.

12/20/2011 1:02:21 PM: The process ‘C:\Program Files (x86)\BigFix Enterprise\BES Client\BESClient.exe’ (as user NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM) attempted to modify the memory in process ‘C:\Windows\System32\smss.exe’. The operation was denied.

1206

Sometimes it tries to access memory that Outlook is using, or notepad, not just the SMSS.

Can someont tell me why the client is doing this, and how to stop it?

Thanks,

Terry

That is very strange… I don’t think the agent tries to access any other process’s memory (certainly not intentionally) and I am not sure what would be different in 8.2…

I think to get to the bottom of this, you probably will need to start a support case and they can help you troubleshoot further…
