Unexpected exception error

Hi Comrades,

Any of you is familiar with this error:

Unexpected exception: N12UnixPlatform27MultiByteToWideConvertErrorE

This results to Client and even Rootserver are cannot be seen in Console.
Gather State Reset won’t work.

I remember seeing something like this before where there was one or more “special characters” inside of the client configuration file. In that case, there was corruption that caused control characters to get stored instead of standard ascii. Correcting the affected lines resolved the issue for me. You may want to start there.
