TRC Connection Slow

(imported topic written by avt85)

We’ve got TEM RC deployed in our environment (version 9) using a tem rc server.

Our problem is that we find certain pcs within the internal network have very slow refresh rates when connected to temrc, we’ve tried other remote control software on the same client (radmin, teamviewer, etc…) and the screen refresh rates are pretty responsive.

I was wondering if there is some setting /troubleshooting that can be done to determine what is the cause of this.

As mentioned, this only occurs on some pcs within the internal network.

Hi,

Can you check the CPU usage in Task Manager for trc_dsp.exe on the affected client systems?

Chris

Hi Chris,

Its between 5-10%

Hi,

Could you compare that CPU usage for trc_dsp.exe with the CPU usage of a PC where you don’t have a problem? 5-10% is in the normal range but perhaps it is a bit higher than your other PCs.

It’s also worth looking at the differences between PCs with the problem and PCs without. Perhaps the PCs with the problem are on a network segment with a lot of traffic and congestion? Are they the same type of PCs or perhaps an older model? Do they have the same display resolution? Also check if there are updated display drivers available.

Also try enabling the ‘Remove desktop background’ policy. A PC with a photo as the desktop background may increase the size of the screen updates sent over the network.

Chris

Hi Chris,

The cpu utilisation between the problem pc and the pc without any issues are the same percentage use.

Both pcs are on the same network segment (vlan) and right next to each other.

Both the slow pc and the working pc are the same model.

Yes, the same display resolution and have got the same graphics card with the same driver version.

desktop background have been removed and made no difference.

We are kinda dumb founded on this one.
