Transparent Console

Just found out you can make the console transparent.

CTL-ALT-SHFT-T

Keep pressing it and the transparacy level increases

Interesting…

Nope, it is a function we built into the console… It was originally a test for some of the graphical libraries we were using when we built the “Visualization Tool”, but we thought we would keep it in because it was fun.

I think it was added in BES 5.1.

hmm, ive tried it on a couple dif consoles (both version 7) and i don’t see any difference. I expect termserv to have limitations, but even on a local bes console i didn’t see any change.

What visual settings are required to make it effective?

Hey k_3,

Sometimes it doesn’t work on terminal services connections, but I have always seen it work on local consoles… It might need some advanced video card features so perhaps if you have a built-in video card that is not very sophisticated, it might not be able to handle the transparency effect.
