Transition from Evaluation to Permanent License (Passport Advantage)

(imported topic written by LarryKlaus)

I started a BES Server evaluation last January (2011). During the year I upgraded to TEM v8.1 and the evaluation license is due to expire later this month. I purchased TEM for Lifecycle Management via Passport Advantage for the proper number of RVU’s in my environment and have received the POE (Proof of Entitlement). I have not received any sort of license file to apply to the server, so what do I do now? When I ordered the new license I did not give any information that would identify my current evaluation license or server, so I don’t expect it would upgrade automatically.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Larry,

When you purchased your organization should have received a “Welcome to Tivoli Endpoint Manager” email from “subscribenet.com” (the service that hosts the BigFix/TEM license server).

The email gets set to the email addresses on your IBM Passport account.

You can email IBMTEMLicensing@lotus.com if you need the email resent or if you need access to your license.

Thank you Noah. I have sent an email requesting the welcome letter as you suggested. I’ll post back with the results.

I did get the welcome letter resent to me and it explained how to use the TEM licensing portal to create a license file. However, I was told that my IBM Internal evaluation license could not be migrated to the purchased license, my TEM server must be reinstalled with the new license file.
