Hi Guys;
Has anyone tried to use DSS to track the install of Secude (FinallySecure)? From what I’m learning, there is no EXE file that gets installed on the system.

Hey Marty,
Do you have relevance that can identify the application?

Expanding on Ben’s reply: You can use any BigFix analysis property as the “carrier” of software inventory data for DSS SAM. To do this, you use the DSS SAM Control Panel to add the analysis property containing the inventory data and then add the values that might appear in this analysis property to the DSS SAM Software Catalog for software recognition. For example, to detect software inventory by presence of DLL files in a given directory:
Create an analysis property that reports the list of DLLs in the given directory.
Add this analysis property as a “Package Property” using the DSS SAM Control Panel.
In the DSS SAM software catalog, add strings that are carried in the analysis property to the Packages area of the appropriate software title versions.
Then, each time DSS SAM imports inventory data, the data from this analysis property will be included and correlated into the Software Catalog for software recognition, and the inventory results show up in the various report views in DSS SAM.
