Do you have the BigFix License and Inventory site subscribed? If so, you can activate the “Windows Applications” Analysis that will show you all installed applications and services. Additionally, there are separate analyses for Adobe products, MS Office applications, VMWare applications, and so on.
We have subscribed for Bigfix License and Inventory site. We have activated all analysis but in this is not enough to track all the application. (Eg: We have Autocad installed in most of the machine but with bigfix we were not able to track the same)
Is there any way were in we can track all the application installed in each machine. This will also helps us to remove any unwanted software installed.
The Application Information analysis iterates through the keys in the registry that are used to populate the Add/Remove Programs Control Panel in Windows. If an application does not show up in Add/Remove programs, it will not show up in the analysis. You can detect other applications if you can identify a reliable registry key to check or a consistent directory structure. But if the program does not add anything to the registry, and can be located in any directory, you would only be able to find it by searching the entire filesystem for the .exe name. This is not something we would want to do, since it would be very intensive and inefficient.
