Tier 1 Support User Role

Need to figure out a way to allow a group of users to have a tier 1 support role.

I’m needing a group of people (not just one or two) to have the ability to reset passwords for the console, web reporting, and DSS SAM. But they should not have any other rights on any of these systems. Due to internal auditing requirements, each person will need a separate credential (no shared IDs allowed).

Today you can do this by:

  • Giving people sql server permissions to change passwords for the consoles.

When BigFix 8.0 is released shortly, it will have the ability to integrate with AD for users and so you can manage web reports users in AD.
