Temwc 0.8 I am unable to get this up and running

(imported topic written by awike01)

I am unable to get this up and running. I have installed all of the prerequisites and have hopefully updated the Web.Config correctly but I cannot get to the link.

I have check the IIS 6.0 configuration and it appears to be correct but when I browse to the link I get an error that the page cannot be found.

Suggestions?

Hi April,

  • Where is your IIS home directory? Within that directory, do you see the folder “temwc”?
  • What is the URL that you are using? It should be http://iis_server:port/temwc.
  • If you go to the IIS management console, do you see the temwc application being registered?

C:\Inetpub.

Yes, I have a temwc folder under C:\inetpub\wwwroot\temwc.

I am trying to connect using http://dcr-tvtst-ms-02:80/temwc.

I do see the TEMWC application in the IIS Manager under Site, Default Web Site.

Under this the Manage Application section allows me to Browse to application (Browse*:80(http)). When I click on this browse link, I get the page not found error.

See attached screenshot.

Does the server have access to the temwc folder you created? NTFS rights can prevent the IIS service from accessing the files.

I installed TEMWC 0.8 and IIS on my primary BigFix Server. I am running all of this internally so I would think communication would not be an issue.

I cannot see anything obvious and I am grasping at straws.

Do you see the index.html file in the /temwc folder?

Can we please try accessing it directly using http://dcr-tvtst-ms-02/temwc/index.html and also http://localhost/temwc/index.html.

Not sure if I missed something here, but just wanted to add. You mentioned that this is on your TEM server and if that is correct, your TEM web reports server process is running on port 80. Could you maybe stop the reports service and then see if you can get there? you might have to restart IIS though.

Martin,

Good call. April, please check out this note and instructions on how to change the port for Web Reports.

If that is the problem and you want to change the port for IIS instead, I see many sites on the Internet with info.

Why am I receiving a 404 page error when I go to Web Reports

When I stop the web server and restart IIS, I get an error “Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage”.

The port was the issue. Once I changed the webreport to 52312 and restarted. Everything worked like a charm.

Thank you!

I see the index.html in the C:\inetpub\wwwroot\temwc directory and I can link to this. But I get page not found when I try to connect to http://dcr-tvtst-ms-02/temwc/index.html and also http://localhost/temwc/index.html.
