I have a problem with TEM implementation. In customer environment is proxy server which deny Internet access by IP address.
I can’t enable sites via License Overview. I attached the error screen.
But when we testing which addresses are contacting by TEM server (i.e. when I try to enable SCM Reporting site) we see few IP addresses. Among other things 67.134.15.15 IP address. For example sync.bigfix.com is 67.134.15.16.
When I want to check which domain is pointing by this IP (on ripe.net site) I can’t see this. But when I go to this IP by Internet browser the bigfix.com is opening.
Can somebody give me IP addresses list contacting by TEM server?
What I should say proxy server administrator? Which addresses should be accessed?
The BigFix Server will need to connect to many different addresses.
To get the Fixlet content, it will need to connect to esync.bigfix.com and gatherer.bigfix.com. Also, you will need to be able to contact any site that you need to download files from (including Microsoft, RedHat, Mac, Adobe, McAfee, and so on depending on which Fixlet sites you are using)…
We are using only Security Managegemt and Patch Management for UNIX/Linux hosts.
And TEm can access sites for these functions.
But we had problem with enabling any site from License Overview and it is diagnosed as license server connection issue. Proxy is bluecoat, and as I know there was few problems with similar configurations.
Support has recommended to change “_BESGather_Comm_UseDownloadService” parameter to “0”. And when we done this we have ability to enable sites. But when we have restored to old value, still have ability to enable sites. Can You, or someone else, explain what this parameter does? I can’t find any description.
And maybe You have any idea how to check if TEM server has license server access?
