I downloaded the Windows 8.2 evaluation copy of TEM and attempted to install it on a Windows 2008 server. Things seemed to go well until I got to the option to start the TEM console. When I selected that option, I was prompted to specify an ID and password.
Not knowing what ID and password to enter, I entered a guess (admin/password), but rather than getting an error message about using invalid credentials, I got an error implying that TEM was not running - Failed to connect to http://9.55.106.10:52311 : HTTP error 28 Timeout was reached.
The system where TEM was installed (whose IP address is 9.55.106.10) does not appear to be listening on that port.
So
a) I have yet to figure out how to get TEM started after the install (or to understand what’s keeping it from starting) and
b) Even if TEM did start, what credentials are supposed to be used when running the TEM console for the first time?
I have other questions too about the evaluation copy of TEM.
Like if a system already has a TEM client installed on it, can my evalution copy of TEM communicate with it, or do I need a second TEM client, one just for my TEM server to communicate with? (Note I did not deploy any clients during my install of the evaluation copy of TEM.) Can multiple TEM clients be installed on the same system? If so, how do you make that work?
Part of my evaluation includes using TEM to push code and patches out to UNIX and Linux systems, but the evaluation copy only seems to come with code for Windows clients. True? I.e. the Client folder in the install folders contains a setup.exe program, which is only for Windows computers, not UNIX or Linux. Can I get a client for an AIX system, for example, for my evaluation, and if so, how?
