(imported topic written by SystemAdmin)

Hi,

I would like to install a TCR interim fix(TRC 5.1.2 IF10).Is there any available fixlet to install it or I have to do it in the regular way?!

http://www-933.ibm.com/support/fixcentral/swg/selectFix?product=ibm/Tivoli/Tivoli+Remote+Control&fixids=5.1.2-TIV-TRC512-IF0010-Readme.txt&source=dbluesearch&function=fixId&parent=ibm/Tivoli

Many thanks,

beno

Hi,

We don’t have content for 5.1.2 in the current Remote Control site, just 8.2.0, so you’d need to do the upgrade by getting the fixpack directly from fixcentral and then upgrading the different components in the regular way.

Hi,

Sorry. The exact problem is the following:

I have installed 8.2 TEM for Remote Control(8.2.0.0044) and the CTRL+ALT+DEL function doesn’t work with Windows 7 target. I have found a similar problem which fixed by a TCR interim fix(5.12.if10). But i cannot install the TCR fix in the TEM for Remote Control environment.

I thought, this is the same product with different names. I was wrong…

So the question: Is there any available fix or fixlet to solve the Ctrl+Alt+Del problem?

thanks,

beno

Hi,

The Ctrl+Alt+Del problem is a limitation imposed by Vista and Windows 7, where there is a new security policy that prevents software injection of the Ctrl+Alt+Del sequence. So for it to work you would need to change the 'Disable or enable software Secure Attention Sequence" policy in the target’s system, as documented in this technote:

http://www-304.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21329616

I think the fix you mention in 5.1.2 IF10 is IZ95895 ALT KEY INJECTED BY CONTROLLER FROM SESSION WINDOWS REMAIN STUCK. This one is not really a fix for Ctrl+Alt+Del, but a problem with remote input after a sequence like Ctrl+Alt+Del was injected.

Regarding the fixlet we are planning to add a fixlet that you can use to change that policy to let services inject Ctrl+Alt+Del and basically automates the steps in the technote above. It’s not yet released, but let me know if you want to try it out and I’ll attach it here.
