Sys Admin Troubleshooting

I’m a sys admin with no access to the console. I get notified of machines not reporting to the console almost daily. What type of troubeshooting can I accomplish without access to the console?

The standard troubleshooting completed is the following;
Service running
uninstall/reinstall
logs

I typically find the client logs to be the best place to troubleshoot systems not reporting in. I often go there first, before the console, because I see the client changes before they are sent to the console.

I’m hoping others have ideas, but typically the steps you’ve listed will get our systems checking in again and I don’t have to do much troubleshooting beyond that.

I’m new to reading the logs. Do you have an example of a good log and one that’s not communicating?
