Supersede patches

I have a question although I think I know the answer around Supersede patches.

When there is a new patch that Supersede another is the old removed from the fixlet database?

If one has approved a patch that is Supersede by another will the new one take automatically approved.

I think the answer is that the old patch is not replaced and that a new patch does not replace the old one that is approved.

A customer asked me but I wasn’t certain.

Hi Hans,

When an MS patch is superseded, we mark the Fixlet relevance as “false” and we add the new Fixlet for the new patch. None of this affects any open actions you have… You will need to stop the older actions and take new actions on the new Fixlets if you want to deploy the new patches… Here is some more info about superseded patches:
