Sudden and dramatic increase in machines reporting fixlet 1607013/1607059 missing

Just today we have seen a dramatic increase in the number of machine reporting fixlets 1607013 and 1607059 for the KB3115020 variant of MS16-070 as missing. This appears to be following some fixlet updates that have not yet been announced as these 2 fixlets were showing as out of sync in the baseline we have that only became out of sync in the past 12 hrs. To put it into context, some 18000 systems have suddenly started reporting the update as missing and on initial look, they are systems that have Office 2013 but do not have Visio 2013.

I suspect a false positive but I don’t have the original fixlet relevance to know what the changes were.

Thanks for reporting this issue. We have updated the Fixlet a few ours ago for a bugfix (will be included in the next announcement).

We will investigate this issue and post further updates here.

Hi Rob @SLB,

Could you open a PMR with our support so we can gather more information for troubleshooting, and provide a custom copy?

Also if there is anyone else seeing similar issue with these two Fixlets, kindly post a reply here.

Yep, sudden boost in numbers (to many more than we have instances of Visio) here since 21st August

Thanks for the quick response @BaiYunfei. I’ve opened PMR 64435,004,000 and attached a copy of the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Installer\UserData\S-1-5-18 registry hive and a QnA from a machine that is falsely reporting the patch as missing to the PMR.
