Installed Remote control target recently on few machines, not able to find the target icon in the windows tray.
But i’m able to take active session of the targets, but not able to chat or use guidance properly.
What might have caused the issue? or am i missing something?

Are you logged in thru RDP on the target system when trying this? All current versions of TRC work only on the physical console session. The next fix pack release, due out some time this quarter, will support RDP sessions on desktop versions of windows (Windows Vista, 7, 8, 10 but not Windows Server versions).
When you’re able to take an active session, do you see a desktop, a windows lock screen or a windows logon screen?
Could you shows us the target settings in the registry (HKLM\SOFTWARE(Wow6432Node)IBM\Tivoli\Remote Control\Target and let us know which version of the target and which version of Windows is being used?

I see a windows lock screen during an active session.
I have PM’ed you the settings
target version: 9.1.2.20
Windows version : Win 7 and Win 2012 data center
Please let me know, If there is anything else required from my side.

No, its not disabled. As Chris stated, there is a limitation in taking RDP of the target system.
I tested it again by having a physical user logged into that machine and everything works well.

which version solves this problem ? we want to RDP with TRC when someone logged in thru RDP.

I suggest you to install the lates version 9.1.4.
If you want to open an Active session to a machine where a RDP session is opened and directly access the destop without having to authenticate to the windows logon you have to set FollowActiveSession to true. If you are in P2P mode just set the registry key to true otherwise you have to set it using the server WebUI through Admin->Edit properties file->trc.properties.
Using this setting you will see the blue icon in the system tray.
Note that this setting is not supported on Windows Server versions.

This is possible using the FollowActiveSession property but not with the version you mentioned. I believe you should upgrade at least to 9.1.3 in order to do that. This is why I suggested you to upgrade to the latest version 9.1.4.
