SNMP service install

(imported topic written by Rominal91)

I have been trying to use Bigfix to install the SNMP service on servers and it keeps hanging after it starts to sysocmgr. The script works when it is run locall but using Bigfix, it starts and then hangs. How can I see where the action is hanging or does anyone know of a way to get Bigfix to install the SNMP service?

Not 100% sure of what you are trying to do here, but if you post your action script, I might be able to tell. As far as telling where it hangs, you the logs on the local machines are typically very helpful. By default, the logs are located here:

C:\Program Files\BigFix Enterprise\BES Client__BESData__Global\Logs

How can i tell if a service is running? I am trying to see if SNMP Service and SNMP Trap Service are not only installed, but running on a server.

Looking to do the same. I have the list of servers, now I need to deploy SNMP (if it’s possible). If you have a package or script that works, Please share. ; )

Thanks,
