Site Administration User

(imported topic written by hernan91)

Hi.

Someone changed the Site Administration password on a BES Relay server, i need to know if i can check a log to know the possible dates of this change. Also i want to know if there’s a way to recreate this Site Admin user /password.

Thanks.

Hi hernan,

The site admin password is used to encrypt the license key file and so anyone with the file can change the password and it is not centrally controlled. If you have an older version of the license.pvk that hasn’t been modified, then it will still be encrypted by the old password.

Your license.pvk file is the key that controls your whole deployment and the file itself and the password are never known by BigFix. You can always create another license.pvk, but you would need to tell the BigFix components to start using the new license key, which is basically the same process as re-installing the BigFix Server and then instructing the agents to use the new license key/masthead.
