Sever Delay in "Last Report Time"

(imported topic written by khouck)

I’ve noticed that the most recent “Last Report Time” in the console is delayed by about an hour (ie current time is 11:00 and the most recent last report time is 10:00). The BufferDir folder is empty (I see events come in, but they are getting processed in a timely manner).

Any ideas?

Specs:

The server is running Win2k3 SP2, two P4 3.8GHz dual-core processors, 3.5G RAM, SQL 2005 (running locally); +10G free of drive space on the application drive and the SQL drive. The version of BigFix we are running is 7.2.1.357 (the clients are still 7.1.1.315); +10,200 clients.

Thanks,

Kevin

You should start by looking at the BES Client log file.

Look for:

  1. Communication errors

  2. Report Posted messages occurring

If the client is posting regularly, than you should check the BES Relay it is reporting into.

As a follow-up to this, I was looking in the wrong folder. At the time, the bufferdir folder was actually backed-up. I don’t know why it was like that, but it finally caught up.
