ServiceNow–BigFix Integration for Automated Software Installation

Hi Team,

We would like to check and confirm the feasibility of the following integration scenario between ServiceNow and HCL BigFix:

  • A software installation request (ticket/RITM) is raised in ServiceNow

  • Upon approval, the ticket automatically triggers a software installation task or Fixlet from the BigFix console

  • BigFix performs the application installation on the targeted endpoint(s)

  • Installation status (success/failure) is sent back to ServiceNow

  • Based on successful installation, the ServiceNow ticket is automatically closed

I can confirm that the proposed integration workflow is fully feasible and aligns with industry best practices for "Closed-Loop Automation."

By utilizing BigFix Runbook AI alongside the ServiceNow Integration Hub, we can achieve the exact flow you described:

  • Trigger: ServiceNow Flow Designer initiates the request via the BigFix REST API.
  • Execution: BigFix performs the deployment and monitors the endpoint status.
  • Feedback: Real-time installation status is pushed back to the ServiceNow RITM.
  • Resolution: The ticket is automatically closed upon a "Success" return code.
