Self Service Portal deployment - change of SSP endpoint

(imported topic written by GwyndafDavies)

Hi,

I’ve ran into a problem with the Self Service portal - I had set everything up using the Software Distribution Self Service Portal Setup Dashboard but then I had to change the endpoint for the SSP. I uninstalled the SSP from the old endpoint and have deployed it on the IEM server instead -however when I go back to the dashboard it doesn’t detect the new SSP and I can’t carry on with configuring. I know there might be some additional steps I now need to take since i previously deployed the SSP on another machine however I’m unsure.

Hi Gwyndaf,

I am glad to help. I have one question: did you move the TSP also or just the SSP?

Sincerely,

Hi Gwyndaf,

I did not have this issue in my environment. Please make sure you follow these steps:

  1. Remove SSP from an old endpoint.

  2. Reinstall SSP to a new endpoint. Make sure to turn off the firewall at the new endpoint.

  3. Ping the new endpoint from BES server. If you cannot ping the SSP endpoint from your BES server, map it in the host file and ping it again.

  4. From the Software Distribution Self Service Portal Setup Dashboard, press the “Configure Self Service Portal” button to reconfigure the SSP.

Good Luck,
