Security Configuration Management Dashboard

(imported topic written by SystemAdmin)

Hi all,

I’m trying to generate a SCM Dashboard report filtered on a specific fixlet Custom Site. The custom site has three fixlets in it, one custom copy of a BigFix SCM fixlet (unmodified!) and two custom written fixlets. In the generated report I can only see the BigFix fixlet (as I would expect) but only one of my custom written fixlets not both.

Is there a specific field or criteria that the Dashboard is looking for or should it just include everything in the custom site (filters permitting!) ?

Hi cidermark,

You need to add two custom mime headers to your fixlets. x-fixlet-scm-control and x-fixlet-scm-os.

The process is documented in the SCM User Guide. In the current version of the doc, it’s the section “To display non-SCM content in the SCM Dashboards:” on page 13.

Again - thank you Jesse. After reading the relevant section it all makes sense and I can now see them in the Dashboard report.

Would (could) a checkbox or an input field be added to the ‘Properties’ tab when editing a Fixlet and/or Task to remove the need for the Export > edit > Import cycle?

Hi cidermark,

We definitely understand the pain of the export->import cycle and we have several ideas to make it easier in the future.
